The Full-Length Feature Novel

The Pain Emperor

by Norvell W. Page writing as Grant Stockbridge

The beautiful young woman was preparing for bed. She smoothed a cleansing cream over her face, rubbing it in well. And a second later, she was writhing on the floor, whimpering with agony — for the unguent contained a powerful acid which destroyed the girl’s beauty forever. And at the same time, while countless women were disfigured for life, thousands of other persons were dying wretchedly from poison in tinned foods, in medicines, and in candies! And Richard Wentworth, champion of humanity was temporarily powerless to help his countrymen in this hour of their great need, for a bitter enemy called the Avenger had arisen to oppose him. Harassed at every turn, his servants helpless to aid him, his life and honor horribly imperiled, can the Spider deliver his native land from the greedy clutches of the underworld’s master-brain?

5 of 5 Superb! November 7, 2019
Reviewer: Spider Fan from Arizona
I've yet to be disappointed by a Spider adventure and this continues the winning streak. It's hard not to claim each as my favorite when I finish, but this one may hold the crown for a while.

A cunning foe, masquerading as a modern-day Robin Hood, ensnares the Spider. He has proof Wentworth is the Spider! Wentworth is hunted as never before, with police, reporters and even everyday citizens out for his head. The odds are stacked against him and it seems even a trusted ally turns traitor... Highly, highly recommended!
