Just finished listening to "Doc Savage - The Desert Demons" released by Radio Archives. Written by Will Murray; and based upon a concept by Lester Dent, "The Desert Demons" is the first, if I'm not mistaken in the most recent Doc Savage novels written by Murray that fall under the moniker of "The Wild Adventures of Doc Savage." "The Desert Demons" is indeed a wild ridge and it sheds new light on Doc Savage. Doc deeply cares for Patricia Savage, his cousin and last surviving relative and when she disappears after foolishly deciding to investigate a mystery concerning the appearance of "Copper Clouds" in the California desert and the weird deaths that happen whenever they appear, Doc mounts a frantic mission to learn Pat's whereabouts and if she's still alive. Without giving away too many spoilers, "The Desert Demons" is a crackling good classic Doc Savage adventure tale that provides new depth and insight to Doc, Pat, and the rest of the team.
