They called G-8 the Flying Spy. History never recorded his exploits—and for good reason! No one would ever believe World War I was that wild!
Flaming red in the East is the dread omen of a new and more terrible evil for G-8 to face — a trail that will take him into the jungles of darkest Africa, where the Master of Evil is arming his terrible legions — men with the strength of twenty wild beasts, whom no bullet can kill!
Created to take advantage of the Aviation craze sweeping the nation in the late 1920s and early 1930s and to bolster the sales of one of Popular Publication’s failing magazine titles, G-8 took Pulp fiction on a flight like no other. Not only a pilot, this mysterious figure, whose true name was never revealed, was also a Master Spy and skilled at many things, particularly as a master of disguise.
Instead of just taking on other pilots, G-8 and His Battle Aces flew into battle against the things of nightmares. Sometimes the machinations of mad scientists, such as G-8’s nemesis Herr Doktor Krueger, sometimes the product of something more sinister or even supernatural, many of G-8’s foes were beyond belief and the embodiment of evil. From mad scientists to monsters, the skies of World War One were filled with horrors that only America’s Master Spy could handle.
G-8 didn’t take the nightmarish monsters that filled the skies on alone, however. The Battle Aces consisted of Nippy and Bull, two pilots as skilled as their leader and fun characters in their own right.
Fans thrilled at the adventures of The Battle Aces into the years of World War II. By then, the aviator craze had passed in fiction and G-8 flew off into the sunset, but was never completely forgotten.
Nick Santa Maria brings G-8, Nippy and Bull to thrilling life in their desperate struggle to defeat an evil nemesis unlike anything they have ever before encountered in Winged Beasts of Death. Originally published in the August, 1943 issue of G-8 and His Battle Aces magazine.
Nick DeGregorio composed the music for the G-8 and His Battle Aces series of audiobooks.
