As a special bonus, Will Murray has written an introduction especially for this series of eBooks.

Jimmy Christopher, clean-cut, square-jawed and clear-eyed, was the star of the most audacious pulp magazines ever conceived — Operator #5. Savage would-be conquerors, creepy cults, weird weather-controllers and famine-creating menaces to our mid-western breadbasket... these were but a few of the fiendish horrors that Jimmy Christopher was forced to confront. Operator #5 returns in vintage pulp tales, reissued for today’s readers in electronic format.

Thrilling Feature-Length Novel of America’s Undercover Ace

The Green Death Mists

by Fredrick C. Davis writing as Curtis Steele

In a small circular room, a Mongol in a scarlet silken robe shoved the knife of an electrical switch; a thousand miles away, a terrific storm swept the sky, changed all colors in a grotesque parody of reality, left thousands of men and beasts gasping, screaming, dying for want of the oxygen which had been conjured out of the atmosphere. The Mongol Emperor had struck again! Prophet to a hundred peoples, descendant of the cruel pillagers of the East, he beckoned to his countless hordes of faithful followers, offering them America as a prize if they were bold enough to win it!... With the death-bells tolling mournfully in every church-belfry, with Operator 5's beloved countrymen, men, women, and children choking to death like hogs with cholera — how can America's famous undercover ace deliver his native land from the demoniacal power of the Son of Genghis Khan?

Death Rides the Sound — A Red Finger Story

by Arthur Leo Zagat

A few indentations on a shiny bit of metal lead Red Finger — ace of the Counter-Espionage Bureau — on an eerie quest in the murky waters of a death-haunted inlet!

The Secret Sentinel — A Department

A message for true patriots!

5 of 5 Operator #5 #08 - The Green Death Mists May 28, 2022
Reviewer: Trash Menace
"Tonight these Orientals are just so much yellow dynamite - ready to explode"

Oh boy, it's one of those.  The foreign menace of the month for this issue of Operator 5 is basically everyone even remotely Asian, even down to Mexicans due to ancestors coming across the Bering Straight.

The uprising is led by an descendant of Gengis Kahn, Jenghis Dhak.  The sci-fi weapon of the month is a ray that turns oxygen into ozone, suffocating US troops and causing their weapons to malfunction.

Alaska is invaded, and Operator 5 must develop a strategy that will drive them out without delivering America's arms to the enemy.

This one had a bit too much large scale military action, as opposed to the dramatic one-on-one action Operator 5 excels at.  There's at least a little biplane to zepplin action.

We have the cliche "Resistance is futile" decades before it appears in sci-fi.  Also ahead of the curve, the Red Finger backup story has Nazis as a villian years before World War II.
