Really big shoo...

At the time THE BIG SHOW was broadcast, more listeners flocked to their familiar Sunday habit of tuning in to Jack Benny. That's the delightful aspect of this neglected program; you're able to enjoy what was truly BIG-TIME radio through the preservation of these transcriptions from Radio Archives. Big entertainment for your buck!

Exceptional Clarity and Tonal Quality

The Big Show complete series just arrived. Thanks so much for the quick shipment. I immediately opened the box, and started playing the CD's. Years ago I started collecting old Radio shows on audio tapes, and the shows were not complete, and offered only a sampling of the shows. The quality was terrible, but I endured them simply because the entertainment value was of such high quality. Then came CDs, which were definitely better, and then the MP3 formats with all the shows on one CD, and costing very little. Even though more enjoyable than the audio cassettes, they were still a disappointment. I just assumed the quality I was hearing was the best on the market available to the public. So I felt content in just being able to hear the full-length shows, with all the noise disturbances, and lack of clarity. Then by chance, (luckily) I ran across Radio Archives. It made sense that these old radio shows could indeed be cleaned up with all the technological advances that have been made today. After reading what you said about the work you put into restoring these shows, I decided to try out the CD's you put out. Listening to your CDs of "The Big Show" with Tallulah Bankhead was like a breath of fresh air. The quality is so much superior to what I had been listening to, it seems the shows are being broadcast live! You can hear all the vocal intonations - even the mistakes and background sounds - with such clarity, it is like listening to "The Big Show" for the first time, even though I have been listening to whatever portions of the show I had been able to in the past and, most recently, those compressed MP3 versions. You provide the entire show in exceptional clarity and tonal quality -- I am, in fact, sitting here listening to these shows in complete amazement! You definitely have a satisfied customer and one you will hear from a great deal in the future. Your costs are more, but then like the old statement, "You get what you pay for!" And in just knowing how much energy, money and effort was put into re-doing the original masters of "The Big Show", your efforts in putting together this complete set is indeed an honor to all those people who put so much into making this last great effort in high quality radio programming. These programs can now be listened to in a manner comparable, if not better than, when they were initially aired so many years ago. My congratulations to you! Thank goodness for the wonderful work you have done in seeing that these radio shows are being reproduced for the CD format in the best and clearest manner possible. I just hope others can find you before attempting to purchase shows from the other sources out there that are so inferior.
