Heart of gold but tough as nails. Ann Sothern fighting crooks throughout the US in different episodes. Very good series. Wish it has lasted longer.

One of Radio's most endearing personalities....

The MGM (Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer) Studios were known as the Queen of the Studios during the Golden Years of Hollywood, and the later Radio Programs such as The Adventures of Maisie with Ann Sothern, Dr. Kildare with Lew Ayres and Lionel Barrymore and the others that came along during a distressful time for the Studio have still have that "MGM charm". Ann Sothern was one of the most charming and lovable characters on the MGM lot, but such was the case with many others, as Louis B. Mayer actually preferred such characters over the big scale movies the Studio was famous in producing. Her last performance was in the 1987 film "The Whales of August" and was nominated for a Best Supporting Actress Award. She did not win, but that loss was one of the mistakes that will be noted in future books. Great restoration by the Radio Archives Staff with perfect audio and tonal quality. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

In the middle of all the stress in the world today, many thanks for working so hard on what is an almost (but not quite!) forgotten art form. I wanted to be sure that you knew how much I enjoy these programs, and I am very grateful that you are able to share these with folks. And, hopefully, you will be sharing them with many more 'as time goes by'. Thanks again for all your efforts at preserving all these programs for the future.
