I was thinking about this set again tonight...and how fortunate we are to have that 1932 Lucky Strike Hour available to us. I hope there are more to come! It's so wonderful to hear early '30s live radio.

The Boswell Sisters

The Boswell Sisters represent probably the first of the 3 sister singing groups up through The Lennon Sisters and The McGuire Sisters with many similar, primarily female groups in between. The Boswell Sisters were not only popular singers on the Radio, but occasionally appeared in motion pictures from the Golden Age of Hollywood. They along with many other singers are presented here in sparkling audio clarity by the Radio Archives staff.
This set is highly recommended for individuals who appreciate the music from this era in time, prior to World War II and shortly thereafter. The later 1950's and the music that evolved in the 1960's became quite a different genre, and a genre that definitely changed popular musical tastes not necessarily for the better. Quite a difference of musical tastes in really so short a period of time, but a difference that makes for music with lyrics that are understandable and provide talented singers and varying Orchestral arrangements.

I'm in the middle of listening to Music of the 30s Vol. 1 and I had to stop to tell you what a marvelous album this is. I can't wait till you do a Vol. 2. The music of the 30s has always been my favorite. I hope it will be soon.
