I may be wrong about this, but if Gunsmoke is not the best remembered show from the Golden Age of Radio, it is certainly one of the best remembered. The story of Gunsmoke (primarily from radio) is thoroughly outlined in Vol. II of the Archives Treasures series in an exceptional lengthy 5 hour documentary including comments by many of the Stars of the radio Show including William Conrad and Parley Baer. It is a fascinating documentary for fans of both Gunsmoke and vintage radio shows in general.
The Radio Archives staff have restored these programs to a superb level of crystal clarity in sound and tonal quality.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Happy with my first purchase!

I bought the mp3 set of Gunsmoke vol 1 as a test, since the holiday sale was too tempting to resist.
The files are a respectable 192k CBR, and they sound very good. Since OTR shows would sound fine at 128k and are frequently lower than that on podcasts and webstreams, I am more than happy with the bit rate. Plus, Tagging is excellent. All fields are filled in with usable data. (I usually have to re-do the tags on this kind of material, but not with these Gunsmoke files.) And the embedded artwork is 1952 x 1800. I wish it were square, but I am pleased to see they went with a high quality image.
An excellent package that I would have had no problem paying full price to acquire.
