GUNSMOKE, simply put, is one of my Top 3 favorite radio shows -- maybe #1, depending on what week you ask me. The Radio Archives sets are just amazing and incredible, and they're even better when you can grab 'em at a sale price.

The musical theme for Gunsmoke is one of the most recognizable of any program on either radio or television. Rex Koury explains the details of his composition in Volume II of the Archives Treasures and how his inspiration came about.
Rex Koury's first love was the Theater Pipe Organ. The Gunsmoke theme is played primarily with the Pipe Organ in this Volume on the episode "Fingered". All the other variations of the Gunsmoke theme used various instruments but always with the lonely theme of a guitar.
If you love the Theater Pipe Organ which for years was used on other earlier Radio Shows, this episode will give you the chance to hear the Gunsmoke theme played by Rex Koury on a Mighty Theater Pipe Organ.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Great sounding, thank you for providing these old radio recordings in a clean, easy to listen to format. The download ability to obtain the files is terrific.
