Rex Stout has created one of the most unique Radio Detective Shows probably ever on the airwaves. He created two of the most personable characters in Archie Goodwin and Nero Wolfe in the History of the genre. The Show succeeded in making a Detective Show as comedic as it is serious with intelligent, sharp dialogue and a modern musical score being rather light hearted as opposed to the heavy dramatic music so typical of other Radio Detective Shows.
The uniqueness in great part goes to the acting brilliance of Sidney Greenstreet. He played the character of Nero Wolfe, based loosely on the rotund detective genius created by Rex Stout. Sidney Greenstreet would have continued this role for a longer period of time had he not had serious health problems resulting in his death in 1954.

I bought these for my father for Christmas. He seemed to like them a lot.

I have read Rex Stout. Excellent author. Wolfe is an interesting character. I like all incarnations of Wolfe. On radio or tv. I really love Greenstreet as Wolfe. The episodes are great, engaging and funny. The other minus is that I wish there were more episodes.
