When I saw that this set (and the NBC coverage) was on sale I sprang into action to acquire it. Simply astounding radio, where you're kept up-to-date on developments while listening to your reliable favorites.

5 of 5 Takes one back in time......... May 25, 2022
Reviewer: Richard McLeod from RIVERSIDE, CA United States
This set is very special in that it takes one back in time with 34 hours of radio as the news and regular programming actually occurred on D-Day in 1944 from the Columbia Broadcasting System (CBS). The Radio Archives restoration is crystal clear and with all of the sounds (including the many interruptions) that would have been heard when these news reports and radio shows were initially broadcast on this famous date in history. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

We are there with a day and a half's coverage of the D-Day invasion. It is marvelous how well radio can make one feel that you are right there all that long time ago. An excellent set.

5 of 5 CBS RADIO and D-Day June 13, 2019
Reviewer: Steve from CT United States
I was not sure I wanted to hear 34 hours of D-Day but it was quite interesting to listen to it and have not finished it yet.  Teacher of History that still can learn some things and this is no recreation but as it happened.  Some of the foreign leaders get a bit tuff to hang with and they need to repeat info to keep those just tuning in or waking up informed but all in all a great look at how the home front found out about the invasion.  Shows how radio broadcasters knew how to paint a scene for the ears and mind, much better than many TV guys images today.  Only drawback was I wanted the NBC and but somehow ordered the CBS but maybe I'll pick that up too!
Great way to learn what went on 75 years ago! Even heard about someone from my home state dropping in to France.

5 of 5 ESSENTIAL! June 5, 2014
Reviewer: andy wood from west yorkshire, ENGLAND United Kingdom
Of course, I am very familiar with this material but I purchased the much improved quality (what ELSE would one expect?) Radio Archives version yesterday and am running it continuously all today - the 70th anniversary of D-Day. I recently obtained the NBC version here - but the news coverage is far superior on the CBS version. No one should be without this living piece of history in the making!
