Description

Suspense
Volume 21

“And now...another tale well-calculated to keep you in ... SUSPENSE!”

Boasting some of the best production values and top stars in the business, the real core of Suspense, what made the show one fans still seek today, was most definitely the storytelling.

Autolite loved Suspense. The automotive parts manufacturer jumped in as the radio show’s sponsor back in 1948 and remained with the program until the end of the 1954 season. Autolite was also the sponsor of the Suspense television show which ran from 1949 until 1954. Autolite spokesman Harlow Wilcox became famous for saying “In just a moment Auto-Lite presents Suspense.”

Suspense, which aired its first episode in 1942, was one of the longest running radio programs during the Golden Age of Radio. It was one of the few radio programs that had a 20-year or more run. In addition to the Television series, Suspense had it own Pulp Magazine which lasted for 4 issues.

Suspense is a true radio classic. And, in this Radio Archives collection, you’ll have the chance to hear twelve broadcasts from 1949, complete with Autolite commercials. For all the Thrills, Chills, and Action you can handle, look no further than Suspense, Volume 21 from Radio Archives, restored to Sparkling audio quality by Radio Archives.

These "SUSPENSE" stories never grow old.  They are well written and acted out by the Actors in each story.  Very well restored by the Radio Archive professionals.
